What is Pupil Premium?
This is funding allocated by central government in order to benefit disadvantaged pupils. The funding is allocated towards the education of pupils who are known to have been eligible for free school meals (FSM) at any time in the last six years. Looked After Children (children in care), who have been in care for at least 6 months are also eligible, as are service children (children who have a parent in the armed forces). Funding in the past has been used for several areas of support.
IMPACT
Speech, Language and Communication
In the school year 2022-2023 67.9% of pupils at the end of EYFS were assessed at being at the expected level for speaking. This rose in 2023-2024 to 77.8%. Listening, attention and understanding was maintained at 82%. The 2024-2025 cohort has a high level of need however we expect to maintain these percentages based
Reading
In the school year 2022-2023 37.5% of Y6 children achieved the expected level in reading. This increased to 51.7% in 2023-24
Writing
In the school year 2022-23 no children achieved GDS at writing however this increased to 3.4% in 2023-2024
Attendance
In the school year 2022-2023 whole school attendance was 91.53% (PA was 32%) In 2023-2024 this rose to 92.56% (PA dropped to 27% )
