School Dinners
Canklow Woods Primary School has been awarded the 'Healthy Schools' Award and prides itself on the provision of nutritious, healthy home cooked meals for all children to enjoy.
Children can order a hot meal, this will include either meat or vegetarian option, or a jacket potato with various toppings. Another option is to have a sandwich of their choice from cheese, tuna, ham, egg, or bread and butter. All meat choices have Halal versions too.
When entering school, children choose and order their school meal in the morning and are then given a coloured wrist band to indicate which meal they have ordered. This has ensured that children receive their chosen meal and has worked very well to maximise food choice, increase satisfaction as well as reduce queuing times and wastage. This system will therefore continue to operate within Canklow Woods Primary School.
We are regularly involved in Theme Days throughout the year which give children the opportunity to try foods from different cultures and countries, as well as new foods from the UK.
The cost of school meals is £2.40 per day. Dinner money should be paid using our cashless system.
